Booking train tickets online has always been a great idea since the turn of the last decade. Most people prefer booking their train tickets online and with good reasons of course. It's the most convenient way to do it. Recently, however, new rules have been put into place to govern the booking of tickets online.
This article is going to discuss some of them.
Reservation advances.
A user can now make advanced ticket reservations through any booking portal for up to 120 days. These reservations mean one can book a train ticket for travel coming up in over 3 months' time.
This, of course, will strengthen the online booking system for train stations making sure they have up to date technologies that will enable them to handle this kind of query. Those who also travel shirt distances daily can now book multiple tickets at once with different departure times.
Some train stations have taken steps to maximize these rules and thus have implemented their own rules which state that users can book a maximum of 6 tickets with one User ID in a day unless the ID is verified. A verified ID can book up to 12 times daily.
Users are allowed to book only two train tickets online during that opening advance reservation period around 8 am and 10 am.
Another rule states that a user can have only one login ID, which is to be logged into the online train ticket booking system. The user is also allowed to be logged in once at a particular point in time either from multiple windows or separate browsers. Logging in to the same account in a particular time with separate browsers can get users banned.
Users have been provided with captcha at login to secure their login.
Captcha is an advanced computer program that tells the difference between human activity and machine activity on a webpage.
Online train ticket booking users will now be asked random security questions about their accounts. This may include, usernames, email, mobile number, etc.
Also, a minimum input time has been set for different situations when booking train tickets online now. Users can spend 25 seconds only when selecting the number of passengers they are booking.
While the payment page has been allocated, 5 seconds to refresh if there is inactivity from the user.
All payments made through internet banking now requires an OTP (One time password) to complete. This is to increase the security of course.
